We all love to save money. Whether it’s happy hour at your favourite bar, or you’re shopping in the sales, there’s something thrilling about getting a discount or a bargain. Imagine then if you had the power to scout out discounts and offers around your area. Fancy going for a bite to eat with friends? Maybe cocktails with a date, or a cinema trip with your Mum? What if I told you you need never pay full price for going ‘out out’, or if you do, you can collect loyalty points that will accrue to freebies and exclusive discounts? Like the sound of that? Of course you do!
Or, perhaps money saving isn’t your main goal, and you’re just desperate to find a new hobby or something fun and exciting to do at the weekend with the family. Wouldn’t it be so easy to just whip out your phone, and have a look at what events are on, or destinations are near that you can go to and have a marvellous time without having to trawl through the local papers, or scroll through the local Facebook pages.
Now imagine an app that can show you both local events AND how to save money? I am of course talking about the revolutionary, and pretty bloody handy, LoyalFree app. 2018 saw the launch of multi award winning app LoyalFree into Leicester City. The app (which is completely free to download FYI) features over 1,000 deals around the UK including a big percentage available in the city centre of Leicester. Nearby you can also save money in Loughborough, Market Harborough and beyond. Download it here to give it a whirl > https://bit.ly/2ue5e0Q.
The app is all about saving money when you shop local. LoyalFree lists offers and deals in and around your area, as well as has a digital loyalty schemes as it’s core. That means you no longer have to carry around paper loyalty cards or scramble around the bottom of your bag or rifle through bent bits of paper to get that stamp. It’s all collected via your mobile device.
LoyalFree also lists local events, parking information and attractions etc in a Local Guide. They have also just launched the Tours & Trails within the app, allowing people to experience places differently (eg. Cocktail trails, historic tours, Vegan trails etc)
LoyalFree was co-founded by Leicestershire born and bred duo Sophie Hainsworth and Jason Nesbitt in 2016. The company was originally self funded and took no investment with all the technology created by the pair. They are now partners with BID Leicester to deliver the project in and around the city centre.
They have won lots of awards, national and local. Local Leicester ones include:
- East Midlands Chamber – winners of Business Improvement Through Technology category
- FSB East Midlands – winners of the Digital Innovation award
- Leicester Mercury – Sophie winner of the Entrepreneur of the Year at the Women in Business awards –
- Leicestershire Live Innovation Awards – current finalists
We wanted to create one app for the UK which people can use as they move around to find out about a place and where to go. The app is for locals and visitors alike. We are passionate to help small businesses be more digital savvy but in a way which is simple for them. We want to encourage people to ‘save money when they shop local’ and support the struggling high street with an innovative solution. We are now on a mission with Trails to create better digital experiences in places. For example, as a Coeliac sufferer I am creating Gluten Free trails in the areas we work with to help people get the right information of where is safe to eat.
says Sophie.
The app is active in 15 towns and cities in the UK. We promote 914 businesses and 1,150 offers. In Leicester specifically there are 79 offers live at the moment. There are lots of exclusive offers such as 10% off at Set, your 4th meal free at Carluccios, 10% off at the Fragrance Shop, 20% off food at Handmade Burger Co and much more. People can also collect loyalty stamps on it at key places in the City such as St Martin’s Coffee.
All the Leicester offers can be viewed here: http://www.bidleicester.co.uk/offers/
