The high street app LoyalFree has announced new ways their technology can quickly adapt to support local businesses during the COVID-19 outbreak. Widely used, the app is currently available in 15 towns and cities and helps connect locals with special offers, events and interactive trails, encouraging the public to support shopping local.
Amidst the new government advice the app has found a new innovative way to encourage people to shop local whilst also staying safe at the same time. A series of new ‘Home Delivery’ trails are now appearing on the app, detailing which local businesses can offer their services through online or safe delivery options during a period of social distancing.
Working with local Business Improvement Districts (BIDs), the LoyalFree app has seen 4 locations launch these in the last day – Loughborough, Oxted, Bristol and Leicester. There are plans for other areas such as North Nottinghamshire and Oswestry to launch their own trails shortly.
Love Loughborough BID became the first to create such a trail, with their forward thinking team rapidly finding ways to support the town amid the crisis.
Lisa Brown, Love Loughborough BID Manager, comments “With the unfortunate cancellation of collective gatherings it has been vital to find new ways for us to support the businesses in our town. The quick turnaround from the LoyalFree app means we can offer an immediate action plan to help support the economy.”
In addition to this, LoyalFree will be adapting their offering on a temporary basis so businesses can promote online offers during this time, when sales are more important than ever. Businesses are quickly offering discounts on food deliveries and adapting their services, so having an additional platform to reach customers is crucial.
Sophie Hainsworth, Co-Founder of LoyalFree, comments “At LoyalFree we want to focus on keeping people safe by finding new ways our technology platform can continue to support the high street at the same time. We are also pooling the skills of our team to offer free services to our clients and looking for new ways to use technology for good.”
